Question: When can a prospect sign a National Letter of Intent? (what dates?)

Answer: Specific NLI dates will vary from year to year, but for softball the fall (or early) signing period opens on the second Wednesday of November and lasts for one week. The traditional signing period opens in mid-April and runs through July. In 2014, the regular signing period will begin April 16 and end August 1. The early signing period for 2015 graduates will begin mid-November.

Only NCAA Div. I and Div. II colleges use the NLI.  NAIA schools and NCAA Div. III schools do not. To find out more about the National Letter of Intent, please go to http://www.nationalletter.org/
